\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tThe fourth Golf Against Cancer Tournament <\/strong>managed to raise a total of \u20ac12,000 yesterday <\/strong>for the benefit of Ibiza and Formentera Against Cancer, IFCC, <\/strong>on a day in which winners Consuelo Ant\u00fanez and Philip McHugh. <\/strong>A sporting event in which a total of 72 players<\/strong> participated, competing throughout the morning at the Club Golf Ibiza facilities.\n\nThis event was sponsored by institutions such as the Consell d’Eivissa, the Santa Eul\u00e0ria des Riu Town Council, <\/strong>the Sant Antoni de Portmany Town Council <\/strong>and the Sant Josep de Sa Talaia Town Council, <\/strong>as well as backed by numerous island companies. The band Reflection <\/strong>provided the musical touch for this solidarity event, in which the hotel group Mondrian & Hyde<\/strong> managed the gastronomic section.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The winners of the main categories were Consuelo Ant\u00fanez and Philip McHugh<\/strong>, who received their awards from the Mayor of the Santa Eul\u00e0ria des Riu Town Council, Carmen Ferrer;<\/strong> the Sports Councilor of the Sant Josep de Sa Talaia Town Council, Xicu Ribas;<\/strong> the Manager of the Ibiza and Formentera Health Area, Jos\u00e9 Enrique Garcer\u00e1n;<\/strong> as well as Borja Mart\u00ednez<\/strong>, Sales and Marketing Director of Mondrian and Hyde Ibiza<\/strong>, and professional golfer Robert Laurencee<\/strong> of Golf Ibiza. The runners-up were San Feasey<\/strong> and Fernando Dur\u00e1n.<\/strong> The Scratch prize went to Richard Roy<\/strong> and Berta Tur<\/strong> claimed the Best Junior award. The longest drive in the men\u2019s category was achieved by David Cardona<\/strong>, the women\u2019s by Amanda Engemann<\/strong>, while Ra\u00fal Arre<\/strong> received the award for the closest to the pin in the men\u2019s section and Mercedes Bonet<\/strong> did so in the women\u2019s.

From IFCC, they expressed their gratitude to all the players, as well as to Club Golf Ibiza, host of this event, and to the volunteers and partner companies. \u201cThe generosity shown each year by Ibizan society at this and other events we organize is wonderful. Thanks to everyone who has supported the Association in one way or another, we have made this tournament not only a sporting success but also a charitable celebration that strengthens our commitment to cancer patients in the Pitiusas,\u201d said the Association\u2019s President, Elizabeth Gail Fear.<\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Once the trophy presentation concluded, there was a grand charity raffle with outstanding prizes donated by hotels, jewelers, restaurants, clinics, and clothing stores from the Pitiusas<\/strong>. The winning numbers will be published next Tuesday, May 6 on the IFCC website and social media channels.<\/strong><\/p>

The money raised from ticket sales \u2014 at five euros each \u2014 has been added to the donation made by Golf Ibiza from the tournament registrations, with the aim of enabling this Pitiusan NGO to \u201ccontinue this important work, providing support to those affected by cancer in Ibiza and Formentera and offering education to prevent this disease,\u201d highlighted the event organizers.<\/p>
