Players Sam Feasey and Fernando Dur\u00e1n were crowned winners of this sporting event, held today at Golf Ibiza with the participation of 79 players.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This charity tournament was sponsored by the Consell d\u2019Eivissa, Sant Josep de sa Talaia Town Council, Santa Eul\u00e0ria des Riu Town Council, Mondrian Ibiza and Island Casino Events.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Ibiza and Formentera Against Cancer Association (IFCC) will celebrate its 25th anniversary on 24 May with a charity lunch at Sonrojo Beach & Chiringuito in Cala Llonga.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Ibiza and Formentera Against Cancer Association (IFCC)<\/strong> has raised a total of \u20ac11,650<\/strong> in the fifth edition of its Golf Against Cancer Tournament<\/strong>, held today at Golf Ibiza. The charity sporting event, sponsored by the Consell d\u2019Eivissa<\/strong>, Sant Josep de sa Talaia Town Council<\/strong>, Santa Eul\u00e0ria des Riu Town Council<\/strong>, Mondrian Ibiza<\/strong> and Island Casino Events<\/strong>, brought together 79 players who competed throughout the morning to raise funds for cancer patients in the Pityusic Islands. Sam Feasey and Fernando Dur\u00e1n took first place.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The tournament winners with Antonio Ram\u00f3n Mar\u00ed, third deputy mayor and councillor for Sports, Festivities and the parish of Santa Eul\u00e0ria des Riu; Marilina Serra, councillor for Social Action, Family and Equality at Sant Josep de sa Talaia Town Council; and volunteers from the Ibiza and Formentera Against Cancer Association (IFCC).<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

After the tournament, the awards ceremony took place with the attendance of Antonio Ram\u00f3n Mar\u00ed<\/strong>, third deputy mayor and councillor for Sports, Festivities and the parish of Santa Eul\u00e0ria des Riu, and Marilina Serra<\/strong>, councillor for Social Action, Family and Equality at Sant Josep de sa Talaia Town Council. The winners of the main categories<\/strong> were Sam Feasey<\/strong> and Fernando Dur\u00e1n<\/strong>, while second place went to Toni Mass\u00f3<\/strong> and Edoardo D\u2019Eustaccitio<\/strong>. The Scratch<\/strong> prize went to David Cardona<\/strong> and Mercedes Bonet<\/strong>. The longest drive<\/strong> went to Toni Mass\u00f3<\/strong> and Consuelo Ant\u00fanez<\/strong>, while Lars Heuts<\/strong> received the award for the shot closest to the pin<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

IFCC thanked all the players for taking part, as well as the involvement of volunteers, collaborating companies and sponsors. The association also highlighted the support of Golf Ibiza<\/strong>, host of the event, and Hyde and Mondrian Ibiza<\/strong>, located in Cala Llonga, which offered the tournament\u2019s official lunch during the awards ceremony. The competition formed part of the first Hyde Ibiza Fest and directly contributed to an initiative that has become an essential date in the island\u2019s charity calendar. IFCC also thanked Island Casino Events<\/strong> for creating a lively and festive atmosphere. \u201cThanks to all the people, companies and organisations that collaborate with our association, this tournament has once again become not only a very special sporting event, but also a fundamental charity gathering that helps us continue supporting cancer patients in the Pityusic Islands,\u201d said Elizabeth Gail Fear, president of the Ibiza and Formentera Against Cancer Association.<\/p>\n

During her speech, Gail also dedicated a few words of remembrance to Marlisa, Golf Ibiza\u2019s receptionist, who recently died from cancer, highlighting her warmth and the affection she left among those who shared daily life with her at the club.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The tournament also featured a live performance by the band Reflection<\/strong><\/em>, which brought the best rock music from recent decades to the day\u2019s sporting event, and the Choco Party food truck<\/strong>, which once again offered players a short break during the competition. Later, Island Casino Events<\/strong> provided the finishing touch to the sporting and charity day with a roulette and blackjack table, with no real money involved, so that all attendees could enjoy an entertaining and festive atmosphere.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Ibiza and Formentera Against Cancer Association<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The Ibiza and Formentera Against Cancer Association (IFCC)<\/strong> has been working for 25 years<\/strong> to support patients and families in the Pityusic Islands during cancer treatment, as well as providing medical equipment, leaflets and funding for travel and treatment outside the islands.<\/p>\n

This year, IFCC, in collaboration with Santa Eul\u00e0ria des Riu Town Council, has launched a pilot project called Hospice, an accompaniment service aimed at people with cancer in the final stage of life and their families. It is offered free of charge to cancer patients in the municipality with a life expectancy of less than twelve months.<\/p>\n

In 2025, the Association funded a new car for the Palliative Care Unit, as well as 46 new armchairs and new side tables for the oncology day hospital waiting room and the radiology room. IFCC is also continuing to promote a new campaign across island society to strengthen colon cancer screening, with the aim of improving the participation rate, which in 2024 was only 28%.<\/p>\n

In recent years, the Ibiza and Formentera Against Cancer Association (IFCC) has donated reclining armchairs for Oncology patients at Can Misses Hospital, as well as televisions and headphones for the chemotherapy room at this reference hospital for Ibiza and Formentera.<\/p>\n

Thanks to donations from its many members and the charity events it organises, IFCC has also funded the decoration of both the oncology nursing consultation room and the Palliative Care Unit consultation room, the purchase of an endoscope for Formentera Hospital, the launch of a colon cancer and lymphoedema screening project in the Pityusic Islands, and several vehicles for the Palliative Care Unit.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
