The ‘Solidarity Hairdressers’ initiative returns this Sunday, May 21, to celebrate its tenth edition for the benefit of IFCC

This event will begin at 10:00 a.m. and will extend until 1:00 p.m. at the Parque de la Paz in Ibiza where 7 euros will be donated for each haircut

This Sunday, May 21, the initiative ‘Solidarity Hairdressers‘ comes back to life, celebrating its tenth edition at the Parque de la Paz in Ibiza. This day, organized by the Es Clot Neighborhood Association and directed by Pérez Hairdresser, will start at 10:00 a.m. and extend until 1:00 p.m., thanks to the participation of different hairdressers on the island who will provide their services for only 7 euros per haircut. All proceeds from this event will go to the Ibiza and Formentera Against Cancer Association, IFCC.

Likewise, this gathering will feature an information stand from the Association and music to liven up the day, playing while the hairdressers cut hair for all those who are encouraged to attend. “It’s an event that each year has many participants, not only because of the charitable nature of this day, but also because the hairdressers who join this initiative are true professionals,” states IFCC President, Helen Watson, who wanted to thank the Es Clot Neighborhood Association and Pérez Hairdresser for choosing IFCC once again as the beneficiary of this action. Watson has reminded that “spots are limited”.

In this edition, in addition to Pérez Hairdresser’s contribution as the director of this initiative, PostQuam Professional, Barber Shop Ibiza, and Patricia Clapés, among other professionals, are participating.

In the past edition, this meeting had more than 200 visitors thanks to the effort of the hairdressers, volunteers, and workers of the Ibiza Town Hall, who were in charge of the assembly, and who this year will return to make the tenth edition of ‘Solidarity Hairdressers’ a reality in which its organizers hope that “so many people will attend”.

IFCC, 22 years alongside cancer patients of the Pityusic Islands and their families

The Ibiza and Formentera Against Cancer Association, IFCC, has spent 22 years supporting cancer patients in Ibiza and Formentera by funding treatments, medical supplies, or informational brochures for cancer prevention. In the last decade, it has donated a total of 26 state-of-the-art reclining chairs for oncology patients at Can Misses Hospital, along with five televisions with built-in headphones for the chemotherapy room. IFCC has also funded, thanks to the donations from its numerous members and the charitable events it organizes, the decoration of the oncology nursing consultation room and the Palliative Care Unit consultation room, the acquisition of an endoscope for the Formentera Hospital, the implementation of a colon cancer and lymphedema screening project in the Pityusic Islands, in addition to several cars for this Palliative Unit. This NGO has also edited the informational brochures of the Oncology Day Hospital, with recommendations for patients undergoing chemotherapy treatment, breast surgery, and ostomates.

Next Sunday, January 19, the ‘Solidarity Hairdressers’ initiative that celebrates its eighth edition in the Peace Park of Ibiza comes to life again. This day, organized by the Association of Neighbors of Es Clot and directed by Pérez Peluquero, will start at 10 am and will run until 1 pm, thanks to the participation of different hairdressers of the island who will provide their services for free and that They will offer haircuts for 5 euros as a donation. Everything collected in this event will go to the Association Ibiza and Formentera Against Cancer, IFCC.
This event, in addition, will have an informative position of said Association in which its volunteers will explain how to deal with this disease, will give information on cancer prevention and detection and will disseminate what are the projects carried out by this Pitiusa NGO and how It helps cancer patients and their families in Ibiza and Formentera.

Likewise, PostQuam Professional and Salerm Cosmetics collaborate in this event.

IFCC, 19 years next to Pitiusas cancer patients
The Association Ibiza and Formentera Against Cancer, IFCC, is a non-governmental and non-profit organization aimed at the fight against this disease in the Pitiusas. IFCC has been helping cancer patients from the islands of Ibiza and Formentera for 19 years by offering their support to the sick and their families and collaborating with the health services of the Balearic Islands, in order to promote improvements that have a greater quality of care.
Thus, in recent years IFCC has launched different projects such as the acquisition of several vehicles for the Palliative Care Unit of the Can Misses Hospital, the purchase of several equipment aimed at performing colonoscopies at the Formentera Hospital, financing of the pilot colon cancer screening program of the Health Area of ​​Ibiza and Formentera, the hiring of a physiotherapist for the Lymphedema Unit of the Can Misses Hospital or the preparation, printing and dissemination of different advice and care guides for cancer patients, among other actions.
