The winners of the main categories were Consuelo Antúnez and Philip McHugh, who received their awards from the Mayor of the Santa Eulària des Riu Town Council, Carmen Ferrer; the Sports Councilor of the Sant Josep de Sa Talaia Town Council, Xicu Ribas; the Manager of the Ibiza and Formentera Health Area, José Enrique Garcerán; as well as Borja Martínez, Sales and Marketing Director of Mondrian and Hyde Ibiza, and professional golfer Robert Laurencee of Golf Ibiza. The runners-up were San Feasey and Fernando Durán. The Scratch prize went to Richard Roy and Berta Tur claimed the Best Junior award. The longest drive in the men’s category was achieved by David Cardona, the women’s by Amanda Engemann, while Raúl Arre received the award for the closest to the pin in the men’s section and Mercedes Bonet did so in the women’s.
From IFCC, they expressed their gratitude to all the players, as well as to Club Golf Ibiza, host of this event, and to the volunteers and partner companies. “The generosity shown each year by Ibizan society at this and other events we organize is wonderful. Thanks to everyone who has supported the Association in one way or another, we have made this tournament not only a sporting success but also a charitable celebration that strengthens our commitment to cancer patients in the Pitiusas,” said the Association’s President, Elizabeth Gail Fear.
Once the trophy presentation concluded, there was a grand charity raffle with outstanding prizes donated by hotels, jewelers, restaurants, clinics, and clothing stores from the Pitiusas. The winning numbers will be published next Tuesday, May 6 on the IFCC website and social media channels.
The money raised from ticket sales — at five euros each — has been added to the donation made by Golf Ibiza from the tournament registrations, with the aim of enabling this Pitiusan NGO to “continue this important work, providing support to those affected by cancer in Ibiza and Formentera and offering education to prevent this disease,” highlighted the event organizers.
