The International Classical Music Festival Ibiza Concerts is preparing to experience the most special and anticipated edition in its history. From August 29 to 31, 2026, the magical outdoor stage of the Cloister of the Dominicans, in the historic setting of Dalt Vila declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, will become the ultimate bridge between European classical tradition and the musical soul of Brazil. Under the artistic direction of the prestigious violinist Linus Roth, and with the sponsorship of the City Council of Eivissa and the Consell d’Eivissa, the festival fulfills in its eighth edition the dream of bringing for the first time to the island the virtuoso Johann Sebastian Rio Orchestra, from Rio de Janeiro, which will co-star three magical nights designed as a unique artistic journey where the music of Bach or Vivaldi will dialogue with the infectious rhythms of samba, choro, and bossa nova.
Tickets are already on sale on the festival’s website. For those who wish to fully immerse themselves in this three-day experience under the stars, the organization has launched a Festival Subscription that includes a 20% discount on the ticket price for the three concerts. Additionally, the tickets for the International Ibiza Concerts Festival will have a special reduced price for residents in Ibiza and Formentera of 30 euros.
Three evenings, three different musical journeys
Each of the three nights of the eighth edition of the International Classical Music Festival Ibiza Concerts will offer a completely differentiated artistic proposal. A cultural event in which the 1703 Stradivarius of Linus Roth, artistic director of the Festival and award-winning violinist with the prestigious ECHO Klassik award, will meet Brazilian music.
This incomparable musical event will begin on August 29 with ‘SamBach–From Bach to Brazilian Sambas'. A vibrant face-to-face between Johann Sebastian Bach and the irresistible rhythms of Brazil. This concert will fuse Bach’s Violin Concerto with unpublished Brazilian arrangements. After achieving great success at prominent European festivals, this acclaimed project finally premieres on the island, combining baroque elegance with the colors of samba and bossa nova.
Vivaldi will be the star of the evening on August 30. The Four Seasons by Antonio Vivaldi and Brazilian orchestral music will shake hands for the first time at Ibiza Concerts along with a selection of works for string orchestra by Brazilian composers such as Heitor Villa-Lobos, César Guerra-Peixe, Ernani Aguiar, Sivuca and Gadelha, bringing rhythmic brilliance, elegance, and folkloric vitality to an unforgettable night and creating a fascinating musical bridge between Venice and Rio de Janeiro.
The closing day, on August 31, will be an exuberant celebration of the musical soul of Brazil with its Brazilian night. With arrangements created exclusively for Ibiza Concerts, violinist Linus Roth and the Johann Sebastian Rio Orchestra will showcase virtuosity, elegance, and rhythm in a rich journey that spans from refined concert works to iconic melodies of samba and choro.
About Linus Roth
The artistic director of the International Ibiza Concerts Festival and prestigious violinist Linus Roth received the ECHO KLASSIK award as "Best Revelation" of 2006 for his debut CD on the EMI label and his second ECHO award in 2017 for a recording of the violin concertos by Shostakovich and Tchaikovsky with the London Symphony Orchestra.
Roth has made a name for himself internationally not only with the standard repertoire but also with his discovery or rediscovery of works that have unjustly fallen into oblivion. He has paid special attention to the works of Mieczysław Weinberg, both in concerts and in the recording studio, being the first violinist to record the complete works of the composer on CD. Making the works of Mieczysław Weinberg known to a wider audience is also the goal of the International Weinberg Society, which Linus Roth founded in 2015.
In 2012, he was appointed professor of violin at the "Leopold-Mozart-Zentrum" of the University of Augsburg and is also the artistic director of the 10th International Violin Competition Leopold Mozart in Augsburg. Additionally, he is the artistic director of the International Ibiza Concerts Festival, which he founded himself, and of the Schwäbischer Frühling music festival in Ochsenhausen, Germany.
Linus Roth plays the Stradivarius violin "Dancla" from 1703, on loan from the L-Bank Baden-Württemberg music foundation.
Johann Sebastian Rio Orchestra

The orchestra has also been invited to participate in seasons of important concert halls and prestigious music festivals, such as the Campos do Jordão Winter Festival and the International Music Festival of Pará.

Ibiza Concerts, music and social commitment
Beyond its artistic excellence, the Ibiza Concerts Association maintains a strong social commitment to the island. In collaboration with various social entities, such as the Ibiza and Formentera Association Against Cancer (IFCC), and through its "Music Therapy" program, the entity altruistically brings classical music in the form of free concerts to hospitals, nursing homes, and people with functional diversity or special needs.
