The Ibiza and Formentera Against Cancer Association (IFCC) is organizing this Saturday, 7 February, a new charity golf tournament to mark World Cancer Day. This event, which will take place at the Golf Ibiza facilities, will include a prize-giving ceremony and a charity raffle featuring gifts donated by various companies on the island, with the aim of raising funds for cancer patients in Ibiza and Formentera. Registrations can be made directly at the Golf Ibiza reception and cost €20 for children, €40 for members, and €60 for other participants. The tournament will start at 9:00 a.m. and will end at around 3:00 p.m. with the presentation of trophies to the winners of Categories A and B, first and second Juniors, and Scratch, with a single prize in each category, all donated by supportive companies from Ibiza. In addition, two special prizes will be awarded: Longest Drive and Closest to the Pin. Afterwards, a charity raffle will be held in which both players and other attendees may participate by purchasing tickets priced at five euros. Winners will take home vouchers for gastronomic experiences, beauty and dental treatments, gift baskets, golf lessons and many other surprises donated by well-known local brands, who did not want to miss the opportunity to support this sporting event in aid of the Ibiza and Formentera Against Cancer Association (IFCC). The winning numbers will be published on the IFCC website and Facebook page.

A week to remember

The President of IFCC, Elizabeth Gail Fear, has expressed her enthusiasm for “starting the year with good news” and launching the association’s calendar of activities with this golf tournament, which “perfectly represents the spirit of the association, aiming to involve the community in charitable initiatives that generate real support for patients and their families.” She also explained that “every activity we organize adds value, not only in terms of resources, but also in awareness and support, and we are very grateful for the continued collaboration of companies and institutions in the Pitiusas.”

This tournament is supported by institutions such as the Consell d’Eivissa, the Sant Josep de Sa Talaia Town Council, the Santa Eulària des Riu Town Council, Casa Club Ibiza, and Restaurante Regina.

Likewise, numerous local companies are collaborating in this event, including Clínica Dr. Rull, Familia Marí Mayans, Frutos Secos Ibiza, CBbC Marina Sta Eulalia, The Wild Asparragus, Moto Luis, Stic Urban Hotel & Spa, The Ibiza Clinic, Golf Ibiza, and the Choco Party food truck.

On the occasion of World Cancer Day, which is observed on 4 February, the Ibiza and Formentera Against Cancer Association (IFCC) has used this entire week to commemorate the date through various initiatives, including this golf tournament and the presentation of its pilot Hospice project, a support service for people with cancer in the final stage of their lives. This program will be offered free of charge, starting on 2 March, to oncology patients residing in Santa Eulària des Riu with a life expectancy of less than twelve months.
